According to the IUCN Red List, two of every five amphibian species are currently threatened ^2. That’s about 40%, and has gone up from the 39.4% rate in 2004 ^3. While some of these species are threatened by natural causes, such as fire and geological disasters, most of them are threatened by human causes.
